The Marron Café at Andermel, Kangaroo Island

The licensed Café was opened in November 2006 and is the most exciting in terms of visitor participation and experience with fresh marron straight from the farm being presented as gourmet dishes by the talented chefs in entrée’s or as main courses.

MENU

MARRON IS A BOUTIQUE LUXURY FOOD.

They take around 2.5 to 3 years to be grown to cafe size & so are quite expensive to produce. However they are typically half the price of & often preferred to sea water lobster. Our chef offers delicious marron dishes for your enjoyment.

Marron and seafood with special bush tucker sauces and tasty desserts.

The menu offers a range of marron options with the piece de resistance being the Poacher’s Platter – a shared dish for two. It has a starter of smoked barramundi and wasabi dip followed by a selection of oven baked Andermel Marron, scallops, szechuan spiced prawns, salt and pepper squid and other tasty delights including three of the Two Wheeler Creek bush tucker sauces. However steak, chicken and ‘specials’ dishes are also always available along with a selection of tasty desserts in the display cabinet. The lemon myrtle cheesecake of Chef Amanda is exceptional.
